ACACIA

One of four primary trees of the gods in China, and is sacred to Buddhists and Hindus.

The name Acacia comes from Spanish origin. In Spanish the meaning of the name Acacia is: Honorable. In the Bible, acacia wood was used to build the wilderness Tabernacle

There are roughly 1300 Acacia species worldwide: about 950 of them being native to Australia, while the balance is spread around the Southern Hemisphere, including Africa, India and southern Asia, Hawaii (known as Koa) and the Americas. The tree is sometimes called the locust tree.

Acacia is a very durable wood and makes an excellent flooring product. Pacific Crossings offer Acacia in plain and hand scraped.
