Our pre-finished Jatoba (Brazilian Cherry) flooring offers an attractive, durable, hardwood floor which will develop a rich, deep red to reddish-purple color over time. Brazilian Cherry continues to grow in popularity due to this rich natural color. Brazilian Cherry is available in select, grade which offers fewer natural defects. This species is the most popular imported species given its inherent beauty, rich coloring and superior hardness.
Brazilian Cherry wood floors, when first milled is a tan/salmon color w/black striping which turns a rich deep red color over time. Brazilian Cherry wood floor products can vary from yellowish hues to pink/reds to dark reds with black striping. Quartered selection yields the most uniform look/color range. In direct sunlight, the color change will occur within a few days. Out of sunlight, it will oxidize slowly over six months. Hardness: 2820 as compared to: Red oak- 1260 & N maple- 1450 (Janka chart)
